Planet X *
03:44
|
|
||
( ( ( PLANET X ) ) )
From when I was a child
I’d close my eyes
and hear a lullaby
inside of my head
nobody hears it
where does it come from
a gentle guitar strum
calling to me
I tried to hide it
forget and fight it
but nothing could stop
the song in my head
with no outlet to express...
Resigned myself, accept the fact
that I must be crazy
how can you blame me
the song in my head
was such a distraction
a physical reaction
to tap on my leg
a voice deep inside
so I closed my eyes
to try to decipher
the message it meant...
Transmissions from Planet X...
When I close my eyes
to look deep inside
I realized
the voice wasn’t mine
seems I was chosen
as some sort of spokesman
a vehicle for the transmissions they send
why did they chose me
I’ll never know
I only hope the song that they send
is faithfully rendered
when received by its sender
from somewhere afar
right down to my head
in transmissions from Planet X...

Last Laugh
03:01
|
|
||
( ( ( LAST LAUGH ) ) )
I’m gonna be the one who finally decides
the ways and means by which I choose to die
take my last breath, put pennies on my eyes
lay me low and flick out the lights
But don’t carve my headstone
‘cause the flesh draped over my bones
is thick, and I shed it
leave it rot then I forget it
and it bakes in the sun
and then I’m on the run
leave it rot, and I forget it
and it rots and I forget it
Last laugh
I bask in the rock
Gaze upon vast, red sands
I am the ruler of this land
of rocks and stones and cattle bones
pillars of granite are adorned
with cactus’ thick and fickle thorn
I am above upon my throne
And you suck, at my skin
for the moisture found within
and you suck, but you starve
and I rule
‘cause I’m gonna be the one who finally decides
the ways and means by which I choose to die
take my last breath, put pennies on my eyes
lay me low and flick out the lights
But don’t carve my headstone
‘cause the flesh draped over my bones
is thick, and I shed it
leave it rot then I forget it
and it bakes in the sun
and I’m on the run
and it rots and I forget it
and it rots and I forget it

Sword of Damocles
05:04
|
|
||
( ( ( SWORD OF DAMOCLES ) ) )
Bucolic home on the hillside
built with fortitude; built with pride
can’t escape the rising tide
envelops all who dwell inside
The skeletal fingers of history
between thumb and fore finger dangles string
the string of destiny
and the sword of Damocles
The future written by our history
our end foretold by our meager means
what came before will come once more
a heavy hand on the front door
The skeletal fingers of history
between thumb and fore finger dangles string
the string of destiny
and the sword of Damocles

Belief
04:07
|
|
||
( ( ( BELIEF ) ) )
Our lives are defined by what we see
the images are filtered and perceived
the good and the bad
feelings manifest into a set
of beliefs
Our senses tell us what is real
emotions derive from how we feel
disavow, or agree
the preference makes up our psychology
and belief
Belief
Together we make up a community
we study in sociology
we kneel, we stand
we build up an army to defend
our beliefs
A hope, a cause,
something to die for;
a belief

Reflection On The Sea
04:04
|
|
||
( ( ( REFLECTION ON THE SEA ) ) )
A plume of ashes, blows away
scattering the old remains,
a box of pine could not confine
the infinity within your eyes
a Starlite mint; a random note
in the pocket of an overcoat,
the little things we leave behind
the fragments which comprise our lives
The salted sea
rush back to me
the tides will turn again, my friend
and carry me...
We’re not men of consequence
we suffer in our own silence,
like whispers in a crowded room
or bees within a flower’s bloom
mere grains of sand, on a timeless beach,
amongst the countless stars in our galaxy
which aligned to bring us both together
to steal our own piece of forever...
Upon the breeze
which has no beginning, and which has no end
it blows through me
and it carries you away, my friend...
Alas but, what are we;
mere vessels of consciousness,
congealed out of the mist
in a frenzy of random chance
intangible, and yet
I held it in my arms,
like the distant sun holds light,
and emits reflections upon
The salted sea
rush back to me
the tides will turn again, my friend
and carry me...
Upon the breeze
which has no beginning, and which has no end
it blows through me
and it carries you away, my friend...

Grand Design
02:54
|
|

( ( ( GRAND DESIGN ) ) )
Chaos causes great confusion
perpetuates the mass delusion
that we are floating aimlessly
between darkness and divinity
Just beyond our comprehension
there seems to have been some intention
we see, but cannot understand
the patterns of a grand...design
Through the chaos; symmetry
in the patterns that you see
life in its diversity
holds a thread of commonality
The thread that weaves a web
a collective consciousness
and if we’re not random we are part
of some seeming grand...design
We’re not meant to understand
only meant to marvel at...designs
We lose sight of the miracle
by analyzing the empirical
or faith in God that fills the gaps
to explain the grand...designs

( ( ( Forever and Ever After That ) ) )
Timeless time
and spaceless space
falling inward, no light escapes
Gaze within, it does not blink
event horizon, on the brink
of forever, and of nothingness
it never ends, nor does it begin
Boundless future
falling sands
fall forever
and after that...
And before creation
there was an essence
on forever
before that
Endless circle
never begins
forwards and backwards
to the infinite
Standard model
truth unfolds
never a nothing
to behold
Blinding darkness
from its converse
exploding into
the universe
Light everlasting; proved by math
forever forward \ forever back
on from zero; infinite
and forever, after that
Never nothing
never everything
never a beginning
never an end
spinning in circles
the accretion disc
into the darkness
to be reborn again
The star explodes
collapses in
the black hole born
from a giant sun
Infinity, from nothingness
on to forever and after that...
